What is PhasmaStrap?
A launcher for Roblox on Windows, built on Bloxstrap. It starts Roblox for you and applies your settings on the way: FastFlags, mods, overlays and capture.
Is it free?
Yes. PhasmaStrap is free and open source. The code is on GitHub.
Is it made by Roblox?
No. PhasmaStrap is an independent project and isn't affiliated with Roblox Corporation.
Does it work with Roblox Studio?
Yes. PhasmaStrap can launch Roblox Studio as well as the Roblox player.
Installing and updating
What do I need?
A PC with Windows 10 or Windows 11, and Microsoft's free .NET 6 Desktop Runtime.
How do I install it?
Download it, run the file and follow the installer. From then on, pressing Play on the Roblox website opens Roblox through PhasmaStrap. The download page has the steps.
Why does Windows warn me when I run it?
PhasmaStrap isn't code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen doesn't recognise it. Click "More info", then "Run anyway". Every release lists its SHA-256 checksum on the download page if you want to check the file first.
Nothing happens when I press Play. What's wrong?
Usually the .NET 6 Desktop Runtime is missing. Launching from the browser can fail silently without it. Install it, then try again.
How does it update?
By itself, when you launch Roblox. It downloads the new version, checks it against its published checksum and installs it, even while PhasmaStrap is open.
How do I uninstall it?
Open Windows Settings, go to Apps, find PhasmaStrap and choose Uninstall.
Using it
Where are my clips and screenshots?
In the Captures window: open PhasmaStrap's settings, go to Capture and open your screenshots or clips. You can search, filter and rename them there.
My FastFlag profile says it isn't active. Why?
Roblox only reads its flags when it starts. If Roblox was already open when you joined a game with a different profile, restart Roblox and the profile applies.
Something isn't working. What should I do?
Tell us in the Discord server. It helps to attach the diagnostic data from the PhasmaStrap page in settings (Diagnostics, Export).
